CBC/Radio-Canada is the national public broadcaster of Canada and one of its greatest cultural institutions.

History

Since 1998, we provide services and software products to CBC to help them develop high performance data-processing solutions.

Challenge

To supplement its applications portfolio, CBC wanted to rely on a modern application development system, which is resourceful, inexpensive, compatible with in-house technologies, and which rests on solid technological basis.

Solution

CBC selected the MyriadSuite solution in order to better structure the development of its Web applications. CBC uses XI-Framework development platform in order to provide a standardized high performance applicative infrastructure to its IT personnel.

For example, with our web tools they have developed the following critical operational applications to:

• Quickly seek musical and video documents corresponding to various criteria in order to put it in numerous SRC emissions.
• Efficiently question SRC archives contained in two huge database warehouses distributed in Montreal and Toronto.
• Manage employee cellular orders with secured and efficient approval cycle.
• Manage emergencies information and electricity requirements.

Results

To date, CBC IT people have built and deployed more than 50 web-based applications widely appreciate by thousands of users for their high level of usability directly related to our XI-Framework AJAX/VB component performances.

Low cost of development combined with a rapid development cycle has generated a lot of interest for the XI-Framework within CBC as demonstrated by the high number of deployed applications since year 2000.
